MTRC 1366 Practicum - Motorcycle Mechanic And Repairer (3)

Prerequisite: None.
Practical general training and experiences in the workplace. The college with the employer develops and documents an individualized plan for the student. The plan relates the workplace training and experiences to the student’s general and technical course of study. The guided external experiences may be paid or unpaid. MTRC 1380 Cooperative Educ.-Motorcycle Mechanic and Repairer (3)

Prerequisite: None.
Career related activities encountered in the student’s area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. Introduction to tune up procedures for both two and four stroke motorcycles including analysis, valve train, ignition, fuel system, and chassis service. Emphasis on the appropriate procedures and equipment. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)

Principles of operation of two and four stroke motorcycle engines and their associated systems. Emphasis on troubleshooting and analysis of faulty systems and their individual components. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)

MTRC 1408 Motorcycle Chassis And Drive Systems (4)

Prerequisite: None.
Theory of operation, servicing procedures, and problem diagnosis of motorcycle chassis, final drive systems, wheels, brakes, frames, and suspensions with emphasis on troubleshooting for handling and ridability problems. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)
