AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION -- RESIDENTIALCedar Valley, Eastfield, and North Lake only (Associate in Applied Sciences Degree, Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate) (Students pursuing this AAS program are required to meet all TASP requirements.) Degree Plan Code: AAS.HVAC.RESIDENT This program is designed to train students to meet employment requirements in the field of residential air conditioning. This will include the installation, repair and maintenance of residential air conditioning equipment. Included in this program is the study of residential air conditioners, heat pumps, gas and electric furnaces, humidifiers, and the design of residential air conditioning systems. Throughout the entire program an emphasis is placed on current techniques used by service technicians.

+Elective - 3 credit hours: MATH course (1300 level or above) ++Elective - 4 credit hours: Astronomy (Must be PHYS 1311 plus PHYS 1111, OR PHYS 1411, OR PHYS 1312 plus PHYS 1112, OR PHYS 1412), Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Physical Science. +++Humanities/Fine Arts elective should be chosen from the following:
Foreign Language or American Sign Language
++++Elective-Any credit course offered in the DCCCD will count toward graduation with the EXCEPTION of the following courses: Courses numbered 0099 and below, College Learning Skills 0100, Developmental Communications 0120, Human Development 0100, and Human Development 0110. NOTE: Students enrolling in this program who plan to transfer to a four-year institution should consult an advisor or counselor regarding transfer requirements and the transferability of these courses to the four-year institution of their choice. |
