ENGINE TECHNOLOGY -- OUTBOARD ENGINECedar Valley only (Certificate) (Students pursuing this certificate program are waived from TASP requirements.) Degree Plan Code: CERT.ENGINE.OUTBOARD This program is designed to train students to meet entry level requirements in the field of outboard marine engine mechanics. This will include theory, diagnosis, repair, overhaul and maintenance of outboard marine engines. Included in this program is the study of outboard marine engine fuel, electrical and ignition systems, engine overhaul and tune-up, and lower units. Throughout the entire program an emphasis is placed on accepted shop techniques used throughout the outboard marine engine service industry. Since not all courses in this program are transferable, students enrolling in this program who may plan to transfer to a four-year institution should consult with an advisor or counselor regarding transfer requirements.
