Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledges, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. (1 Lec.)

CBFM 1311   Building Maintenance I (3)
This is a WECM course number. Former course prefix/number BPMT 1370.
Prerequisite: None.
Introduction to the basic principles of residential and commercial maintenance and repair. Emphasis on safety, materials, and tool identification. (3 Lec.)

CBFM 1315   Exterior Maintenance (1)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: None.
Building repair principles with emphasis on minor repairs of exterior walls, windows, doors, trim, and roofing. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)

CBFM 1370   Facilities Planning and Project Management (1)
This is a Local Need Course.
Prerequisite: None.
Students will learn how to assemble and manage facilities teams and how to plan and implement facilities projects including methods to control key elements of the process. This course involves an examination of case studies on models, project management methods, and outcomes. (3 Lec.)

Management and controls required to direct operations of the engineering and maintenance department. Includes planning and scheduling, delegating responsibilities, purchasing, problem-solving, management by objectives, supervisory training, in-service training, and budget preparation. CBFM 2317   Mechanical Maintenance (3)

Prerequisite: None.
Study of the general principles of mechanical and electrical systems as related to inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of facility equipment. Lab required. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
