CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
North Lake only
(Associate in Applied Sciences Degree)
(Students pursuing this AAS program are required to meet all TASP requirements.)
Degree Plan Code: AAS.CONSTRUCT.MAN.02
Few careers provide for the opportunity to leave a legacy. Construction Management lets you say "I built that!". CMs provide leadership to the project, often from initial concept to completion.
Construction managers work in all phases of the construction business - public and private owners; small multi-family projects to the largest of skyscrapers and industrial projects; rural highways to major interstates. Whatever the project, CMs keep the project on track and within budget. Working closely with architects, engineers, owners and the various contractors on a job, the construction manager's duties are varied, challenging and rewarding, both emotionally and financially. Optionally, graduates can go into estimating, field engineering, project scheduling and other management levels, both at the general contractor level and for specialty contractors such as mechanical, plumbing
and electrical contractors.
Fully accredited by the American Council for Construction Education, North Lake's Construction Management graduates are in demand in Texas with employment prospects throughout the country. Further educational opportunities allow program graduates to seek both Bachelor and Master's degrees in the field.
Roger Wilson, Program Coordinator, is available to help you structure your degree plan, guide you through course selection, and answer your question. You may contact him at Rwilson@dcccd.edu.
