Prerequisite: VNSG 1406.
A basic, intermediate, or advanced type or health professions work-based instruction that helps students synthesize new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Close and/or direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (faculty or preceptor), generally in a clinical setting. Clinical education is an unpaid learning experience. Focus is on the care of the maternal/newborn client. (3 Ext.)

Study of childhood diseases and childcare from infancy through adolescence. Focus on the care of the well and the ill child utilizing the nursing process. (3 Lec.)

A study of the biological, psychological and sociological concepts applicable to basic needs of the family including childbearing and neonatal care. Topics include physiological changes related to pregnancy, fetal development, and nursing care of the family during labor and delivery and the purpureum. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.)
