El Centro College library orients students to the information environment. The staff introduces the tools needed to navigate an increasingly complex world of information resources. Through orientation and research classes, the library provides information skills to help you achieve your academic goals. El Centro College library has an information center where you can receive assistance in using print and non-print materials, electronic full-text resources, the Internet and database services to supplement classroom and distance learning. Electronic resources are available to you both on-campus and off-campus. The library has a growing collection of books and journals on a variety of subject areas to support academic transfer programs and technical/occupational programs. In addition, there are special collections available of career materials, pamphlets, newspapers, popular magazines and technical periodicals. Other resources provided may include slides, tapes, compact discs, computer software, videotapes, films, digital videodisks and electronic books. Willful damage to library materials (or property) or actions disturbing other library users may lead to your losing library privileges. Damage cases are referred to the appropriate authorities for further action. All books and other library materials must be returned before the end of each semester. No transcript may be issued until your library record is cleared. |
