Prerequisite: (1) Completion of Texas Department of Health approved Emergency Medical Technician course, or certification by the Texas Department of Health or National Registry of EMT’s as an Emergency Medical Technician, (2) Current BCLS (CPR) certification preferred.

The capstone course of the EMSP program. Designed to provide for teaching and evaluating comprehensive, assessment-based patient care management. (2 Lab.)

EMSP 2260   Clinical--Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) (2)

Prerequisite: (1) Successful completion of EMSP 1438, 1355, 1356, and 2444 or 2544, and (2) current Texas EMT-B certification.
A basic, intermediate, or advanced type of health professions work-based instruction that helps students synthesize new knowledge, apply previous knowledge, or gain experience managing the workflow. Practical experience is simultaneously related to theory. Close and/or direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional (faculty or preceptor), generally in a clinical setting. Clinical education is an unpaid learning experience. (6 Ext.)
