This course will introduce the student to the scientific process of radiographic image evaluation. (2 Lec.)

RADR 1250   Radiographic Image Evaluation II (2) New course added May 24, 2003

Prerequisite: RADR 1267 or instructor permission.
Topics addressed are image quality assessment developing image quality standards, and applying the scientific process in developing exposure charts. (2 Lec.)

RADR 1411   Basic Radiographic Procedures (4)

Prerequisite: RADR 2213, HPRS 1204, SCIT 1408 or BIOL 2402 or concurrent enrollment.
An introduction to radiographic positioning terminology, the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of basic anatomy. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)

RADR 2213   Radiation Biology and Protection (2)
This is a WECM course number. Former course prefix/number RADS 1170.
Prerequisite: SCIT 1407 or BIOL 2401 and admission to the program.
A study of the effects of radiation exposure on biological systems, typical medical exposure levels, methods for measuring and monitoring radiation and methods for protecting personnel and patients from excessive exposure. (2 Lec.)

RADR 2217   Radiographic Pathology (2)

Prerequisite: HPRS 2201, SCIT 1408 or BIOL 2402, RADR 1411, RADR 2301, RADR 2331.
A presentation of the disease process and common diseases and their appearance on medical images. (2 Lec.)

Prerequisite: All previously required RADR courses in sequence, concurrent enrollment or permission of the instructor.
A capstone course focusing on the synthesis of professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes in preparation for professional employment and lifelong learning. (1 Lec., 3 Lab.)

A continuation of the study of radiographic imaging technique formulation, image quality assurance, and the synthesis of all variables in image production. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.)

RADR 2309   Radiograhic Imaging Equipment (3) New course added May 24, 2003

Prerequisite: RADR 1313 and RADR 2305.
A study of the equipment and physics of x-ray production, basic x-ray circuits, and the relationship of equipment components to the imaging process. (3 Lec.)

RADR 2331   Advanced Radiographic Procedures (3)

Prerequisite: RADR 1411 and RADR 2301.
Continuation of positioning; alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, evaluation of images for proper demonstration of anatomy and related pathology. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.)
