MDCA 1205 Medical Law and Ethics (2)
This is a WECM course number. Prerequisite: GED or High School Diploma and admission to program. Instruction in principles, procedures, and regulations involving legal and ethical relationships among physicians, patients, and medical assistants. Includes current ethical issues as they relate to the practice of medicine and fiduciary responsibilities. This course may be repeated for credit. (2 Lec.)

MDCA 1352 Medical Assistant Laboratory Procedures (3)
This is a WECM course number. Prerequisite: None. Emphasis on common laboratory procedures performed in the physician’s office or clinic setting. Includes blood collection, specimen handling, basic urinalysis, identification of normal ranges, and electrocardiography. This course may be repeated for credit. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
