This course provides an introduction to the complexities of managing Web site development projects. Students will learn cost specification, budgeting, schedule construction, negotiation, team-building, time management and status reporting skills. This course deals with the general needs for securing a single computer, or a series of computers, in a network. The primary focus of the course is protecting the operating system, access to the operating system, and the data on that operating system or systems. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)

ITNW 2477   Security Assessments and Auditing (4) New course added April 30, 2003
This is a WECM course number.
Prerequisite: ITNW 2446 (Designing a Secure Network).
This course covers the procedures, concerns, policies, and practices of security assessment and auditing. The primary focus of the course is three-fold: (1) assessing the security needs in various environments; (2) auditing the current level of security in the environment under study; and (3) recommending a methodology to bring the environment into compliance with the recommended security procedures and policies. ITNW 2478   Incident Response and Handling (4) New course added April 30, 2003
This is a WECM course number.
Prerequisite: ITNW 2477 (Security Assessments and Auditing).
This course deals with the processes, procedures, precedents, and operations necessary to determine when a security breech has occurred; stabilize and preserve the records and data about the incident for later reporting; prepare and present the incident information to the appropriate agencies; and recover the data and systems following the incident.
