VIET 1311   Beginning Vietnamese (3) New course added May 26, 2003

Prerequisite: None.
This course is an introduction to Vietnamese speaking, comprehension, reading, writing and grammar. Cultural insights are also presented. Emphasis is on pronunciation, comprehension, and oral expression. It is strongly recommended that students who plan to study Vietnamese for more than one semester enroll in Vietnamese 1411, which includes an extra hour of lab per week (and one extra hour of credit for the course). Students who successfully complete Vietnamese 1311 and wish to continue their studies of Vietnamese may register for Vietnamese 1412. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)
