FSHN 1301 Textiles (3)
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: None. A general study of textiles with emphasis on factors that affect the hand, appearance, and performance in clothing use. Examination of the properties of natural and man-made fibers, how yarn is formed, methods of production, and the properties of a wide variety of fabrics. FSHN 1325 Basic Women's Tailoring (3)
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: FSHD 1324. An introduction to tailoring women’s apparel including instruction in pattern alterations; assembling women’s jackets skirts, and pants; and fitting and alteration procedures. Fundamentals of sewing machine operations, fabric preparation and cutting, machine and hand sewing techniques, and pressing proficiencies. (2 Lec., 4 Lab.)

This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: Student must make a grade of "C" or better. Principles of drafting and draping basic collars, skirts, bodices, and sleeves. Includes cutting out garments. (2 Lec., 8 Lab.)

FSHN 1418 Pattern Drafting II (4)
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: FSHN 1417 with a grade of “C” or better, FSHD 1324. The student will draft and construct various collars, skirts, necklines, and sleeves and demonstrate pattern-making skills. (2 Lec, 8 Lab.)

FSHN 2380 Cooperative Education –Apparel and Textile Manufacture (3)
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: FSHN 1417 with a grade of “C” or better. Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through an individualized agreement among the college, employer, and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Includes a lecture component. (1 Lec., 15 Ext.)
