Degree Plan Code: AAS.NURSING The Associate Degree Nursing Program is a two-year, 72 credit hour program, leading to the Associate in Applied Sciences Degree. The program prepares graduates to be eligible to write the NCLEX-RN Examination to become licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in Texas. The program is accredited by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas, (333 Guadalupe, Suite 3-460, Austin, Texas 78701: Telephone number 512-305-7400) and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (61 Broadway, 33rd Floor, New York, New York 10006: Telephone number 212-363-5555). The program combines classroom and skills laboratory experience with hospital clinical experience. The program offered at North Lake is under the administration and accreditation of the El Centro College Associate Degree Nursing program. Students will attend classes at North Lake, but receive their degrees from El Centro. +Humanities/Fine Arts - must be selected from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Humanities/Fine Arts. #BIOL 1406 Biology for Science Majors I or SCIT 1407 Human Anatomy and Physiology I are prerequisites to BIOL 2401 Anatomy and Physiology I. A grade of "C" or better is required for all courses. Support courses must be completed before or during the semester indicated. |
