In compliance with Section 4.59 (c), a student is required to retake an assessment instrument after successfully completing all developmental education if the student did not initially perform at or above the following scores on September 1, 2003 to present. Please know the essay score is the primary consideration for meeting TSI writing requirements. For TSI writing retesting requirements, an essay with a score of 5 coupled with the objective writing test standard listed within the following chart will not require a retest. An essay with a score of 4 or less will always require a retest regardless of the objective score listed within the following chart.
