COMPUTER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY -- VISUAL STUDIO DEVELOPER

Offered at all seven campuses

  • Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
  • Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.
  • Degree Plan Code: C1.CIT.VISUAL.ST.06

    This certificate provides programmers with skills to evaluate Microsoft.NET tools and technologies, primarily Microsoft Visual Studio.NET. The courses cover resources for creating applications, components, and services built on the .NET Framework.

    Note: In Semester I, students may select an introductory or advanced level Visual Basic.NET (ITSE 1431 or ITSE 2449) or Visual C#.NET (ITSE 1422 or ITSE 2459) course based on prior programming skills and knowledge approved by designated Information Technology personnel.

    Prerequisite: Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1401, and problem solving and logic structures as obtained in ITSC 2435 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.
