ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN TEACHING DEGREE EC-4 EARLY CHILDHOOD DEGREE SPECIALIZATION ONLY Degree Code: AAT.UNT.EC4.SPECIAL The Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree is a Board-approved collegiate degree program consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. This plan is for those who plan to transfer to the University of North Texas and who are interested in earning certification to teach Early Childhood through Grade 3 in a generalist classroom with early childhood specialization. In order to be eligible to receive this AAT degree and be guaranteed acceptance into the UNT Department of Education, a student must:

This degree may be taken through a combination of on-campus and distance education offerings; or if planned correctly, the degree may be completed entirely through distance education. Receiving institutions are not required to accept a grade below "C" in transfer.
