EMSP 1438 Introduction to Advanced Practice (4) This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: (1) Completion of a Texas Department of State Health Services approved Emergency Medical Technician Basic or Intermediate course, and certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services or National Registry of EMT''s as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic or Intermediate, (2) Current BCLS (CPR) certification, (3) Successful completion of a departmental assessment of EMT-Basic knowledge at the DOT National Standard Curriculum level. An exploration of the foundations necessary for mastery of the advanced topics of clinical practice out of the hospital. This course is cross-listed as EMSP 1338. The student may register for either EMSP 1438 or EMSP 1338, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.) |
