ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCES DEGREE WITH AN EMPHASIS IN COMPUTER/ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

conjunction with the University of North Texas


Degree Code: AS.UNT.COMP/ELET

This is an "Articulated Emphasis" degree with the University of North Texas (UNT).

Students who complete this degree with a GPA of 2.50 with no grade below that of "C" and who meet all admissions requirements at UNT will be accepted into UNT's Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering program. Students should follow this plan only if they wish to transfer to UNT in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Students wishing to transfer to another university should not assume this entire plan will transfer.

In order to be eligible to receive this AS degree, a student must:

  1. Complete a minimum of 65 credit hours indicated in this plan (students should also complete the additional hours as shown in order to be accepted into the UNT program);
  2. Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301, either Speech 1311 or 1315, and Math 2513;
  3. Receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 ("C")
    [NOTE: UNT guarantees admission with a 2.50 GPA with no grade below a "C"];
  4. Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites; and
  5. Complete at least 25% of the degree requirements at Richland College.

Students who plan to transfer to UNT must work closely with an advisor/counselor.
