ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCES DEGREE WITH AN EMPHASIS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Available at Richland College in conjunction with the University of Texas at Dallas

Degree Code: AS.UTD.ELEC.ENGR

This is an "Articulated Emphasis" degree with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).

Students who complete this degree with a GPA of 2.50 with no grade below that of "C" and who meet all admissions requirements at UTD will be accepted into UTD's Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program. Students should follow this plan only if they wish to transfer to UTD in Electrical Engineering. Students wishing to transfer to another university should not assume this entire plan will transfer.

In order to be eligible to receive this AS degree, a student must:

  1. Complete a minimum of 66 credit hours indicated in this plan (students should also complete the additional eight hours as shown in order to be accepted into the UTD program);
  2. Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301, either Speech 1311 or 1315, and Math 2513
  3. Receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 ("C")
    [NOTE: UTD guarantees admission with a 2.50 GPA with no grade below a "C"];
  4. Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites; and
  5. Complete 25% of the degree at Richland College.

Students who plan to transfer to UTD must work closely with an advisor/counselor.
