Networking Support Certificate

COMPUTER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY -- NETWORKING SUPPORT

Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland only

(Certificate)

  • Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
  • Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

Degree Plan Code: C1.CIT.NWK.SUPP.07

This certificate offers multiple specialty options for networking systems engineers, software developers, database administrators and systems administrators. The program also provides preparatory training for those wishing to take the MCSE, MCDBA, MCSD, MCSA, or MCAD certification examinations. NOTE: Students must select and complete one specialty track to be considered as having met the requirement for this award.

Prerequisite: Basic understanding or personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1401, and problem solving and logic structure as obtained in ITSC 2435 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.
