Prerequisite: Minimum grade of "C" or better in all previous sonography courses.
Sectional anatomy of the male and female body. Includes anatomical relationships or organs vascular structures and body planes and quadrants. (3 Lec.)

DMSO 1355   Sonographic Pathophysiology (3)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in all previous sonography courses.
Pathology and pathophysiology of the abdominal structures visualized with ultrasound. Includes abdomen, pelvis, and superficial structures. (3 Lec.)

DMSO 1366   Practicum (or Field Experience)-Diagnostic Medical Sonography (3)

Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in all previous sonography courses.
Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student. (24 Ext.)

DMSO 1405   Sonography of Abdominopelvic Cavity (4)

Normal and pathological abdominal and pelvic structures as related to scanning techniques, patient history and laboratory data, transducer selection and scanning protocols. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.)

Prerequisite: A grade of "C " or better in all previous courses.
This course focuses on the basic pulse-echo ultrasound system including components and function of the scanner, display system, scan converter, and hard copy units. Emphasis on Doppler production and display and safety and performance issues. (1 Lec.)
