MRMT 1192   Special Topics in Medical Transcription (1)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: MDCA 1313, MDCA 1201, and program admission or instructor approval.
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. (2 Lab.)

MRMT 1292   Special Topics in Medical Transcription (2)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: MRMT 1307, Intermediate Medical Transcription.
Application of learned transcription fundamentals and utilization of references in the production of intermediate level reports of physician dictation with development of speed and accuracy. (1 Lec., 3 Lab.)

MRMT 1307   Medical Transcription Fundamentals (3)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: Admission to Medical Transcription or Medical Assistant program or instructor approval.
Fundamentals of medical transcription with hands-on experience in transcribing physician dictation including basic reports such as history and physicals, discharge summaries, consultations, operative reports, and other medical reports. Utilizes transcribing and information processing equipment compatible with industry standards. Designed to develop speed and accuracy. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.)

MRMT 1382   Cooperative Education - Medical Transcription/Transcriptionist (3)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: Completion or concurrent enrollment in SCIT 1407 and HITT 2331. Completion or concurrent enrollment in MRMT 2433.
Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through an individualized agreement among the college, employer, and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Includes a lecture component. (1 Lec., 16 Ext.)

Prerequisite: Admission to the Medical Transcription Program or instructor approval.

Prerequisite: MRMT 1407.
Production of advanced reports of physician dictation with increasing speed and accuracy including history and physicals, consultations, discharge summaries, operative reports, and other medical reports. (2 Lec., 4 Lab.)
