DSPE 2371 Advanced Pediatric Echocardiography (3) New course added March 25, 2008
This is a Local Need Course. Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed all previous program and support courses with a grade of "C" or better. Corequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in DSPE 2470 and DSPE 2670. Instruction in advanced pediatric echocardiographic procedures. Topics include: 12 lead EKG interpretation, Transesophageal echocardiography, the use of contrast, Intra-operative and interventional procedures. Considerations associated with intensive care of the pediatric patient will be addressed and include; intracardiac monitoring lines and other accessories of the post-operative pediatric patient, pharmacological treatments, and other therapies.
