Emphasis Degrees
This is a new award offered at Richland College effective Fall 2007. This award will be offered at Eastfield College beginning Spring 2008. ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE WITH AN EMPHASIS IN Degree Code: AA.ASIA.08 This degree plan is designed to meet the needs of students who plan to transfer to a four-year college/university. Students planning to continue their Asian-American/Middle Eastern-American Studies as a transfer student should check specific requirements at the transfer institution. This plan may not satisfy all the requriements of a specific transfer four-year college/university. Students should work closely with an academic advisor/counselor. This degree may be taken through a combination of on-campus and distance education offerings; or if planned correctly, the degree may be completed entirely through distance education. Receiving institutions are not required to accept a grade below "C" in transfer.
*NOTE: When the courses are available, it is strongly recommended that students take the following Core Curriculum courses (see asterisks) that have the ASIA designation. This will enhance student knowledge in the area of Asian-American/Middle Eastern-American Studies. Please refer to the current credit class schedule for listings.
