ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE WITH AN EMPHASIS IN ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY

Available at all DCCCD Colleges
and Transferable to the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD)

This degree plan is made possible through an articulation agreement between Richland College of the DCCCD and UTD.

Degree Code: AA.UTD.ARTS.TECH

This is an "Articulated Emphasis" degree with the University of Texas at Dallas. Students should read and understand the paragraph shown below.

Students who complete this degree with a GPA of 2.50 with no grade below that of "C" and who meet all admissions requirements at UTD will be accepted into UTD's Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Technology. Students should follow this plan only if they wish to transfer to UTD in Arts and Technology. Students wishing to transfer to another university should not assume this entire plan will transfer.

In order to be eligible to receive this AA degree, a student must:

  1. Complete a minimum of 66 credit hours including all the required courses listed;
  2. Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301, either Speech 1311 or 1315, and Math 1414 or 2342;
  3. Receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 ("C");
    [NOTE: UTD guarantees admission with a 2.50 GPA with no grade below a "C"]
  4. Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites; and
  5. Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

Students who plan to transfer to UTD must work closely with an advisor/counselor.

Students completing this degree must submit to UTD a completed Texas Common Application within 12 months of their anticipated enrollment at UTD.

NOTE: This Associate of Arts degree requires 66-68 hours, and 54 of those hours can be applied to the BA in Arts and Technology Degree requirements at UTD.
