NURA 1291 Special Topics in Nursing Assistant/Aide (2)
This is a WECM Course Number. Instruction in first aid for the injured or ill persons. Includes lifesaving skills for respiratory and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants in a medical setting. During this course students will be awarded the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course Completion card. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. (2 Lec.)

NURA 1301 Nurse Aide for Health Care (3)
This is a WECM Course Number. Preparation for entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. Topics include resident's rights, communication, safety, observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis on effective interaction with members of the health care team. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
