KORE 1311 Beginning Korean I (3)
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
This is the first semester of academic transfer Korean. It is an introductory course intended for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Its aim is to present essential vocabulary and grammar, and to develop the pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing skills necessary for basic communication and comprehension. Customs and cultural insights are also presented. This course is cross-listed as KORE 1411 but is also used in Study Abroad programs. Students may register for either KORE 1311 or KORE 1411 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)

KORE 1312 Beginning Korean II (3)
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite: KORE 1311 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
This is the second semester of academic transfer Korean. It continues the oral practice, reading, writing, grammar and cultural studies begun in KORE 1311. Students are expected to acquire a substantial amount of vocabulary and begin to deal with idiomatic language and more advanced syntax. This course is cross-listed as KORE 1412 but is also used in Study Abroad programs. Students may register for either KORE 1312 or KORE 1412 but may receive credit for only one of the two. KORE 2311 Intermediate Korean I (3)
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite: KORE 1412 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
This is the third semester of academic transfer Korean. This course is designed to further develop students' overall language proficiency and cultural knowledge through more advanced reading, listening, speaking and writing exercises. Grammatical concepts are reviewed and expanded. (3 Lec.)

KORE 2312 Intermediate Korean II (3)

Prerequisite: KORE 2311 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
This is the fourth semester of academic transfer Korean. This course is a continuation of KORE 2311. The stress is on reading, composition, grammatical complexities, and intense oral practice, with continued studies of the culture. (3 Lec.)
