EMSP 1438   Introduction to Advanced Practice (4)
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: (1) Verification of successful completion of testing with the National Registry of EMT''s at either Emergency Medical Technician Basic or Intermediate levels; OR current certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an EMT-Basic or Intermediate (2) Current BCLS (CPR) certification at the Health Care Provider level by the American Heart Association or equivalent, (3) Successful completion of a departmental assessment of EMT-Basic knowledge at the DOT National Standard Curriculum level.
An exploration of the foundations necessary for mastery of the advanced topics of clinical practice out of the hospital. This course is cross-listed as EMSP 1338. The student may register for either EMSP 1438 or EMSP 1338, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)
