RSPT 2314 Mechanical Ventilation (3)
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" in RSPT 1260, RSPT 1307, RSPT 1311, RSPT 2258, RSPT 2310, and RSPT 2317. Designed to provide in-depth coverage and application of therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate, spontaneous, and artificial ventilation with emphasis on ventilator classification, methods, principles, and operational characteristics. Include indications, complications, and physiologic effects/principles of mechanical ventilation. This course also emphasizes initiation, management, and weaning of ventilatory support. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
