SPAN 2315   Spanish for Native Speakers II (3)
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
This one semester course focuses on the development of writing and oral communication skills, including practice in: 1) describing story characters, real persons, animals and natural phenomena; 2) summarizing facts and ideas; 3) giving oral information, instruction, directions, explanations and messages; 4) writing original compositions in Spanish and translating from English into Spanish; 5) reading and discussing well-known Spanish and Hispanic-American historical figures, writers, artists and musicians; 6) gaining a more advanced understanding of the Hispanic culture. The student is expected either to speak Spanish as a home language or to function at a similar level of proficiency in Spanish. The student is also expected to have completed Spanish 2311 or Spanish 2313 or to have teacher recommendation. (3 Lec.)
