PSYC 1300   Learning Framework (3)
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
This course is a study of theoretical models regarding how people learn, think and motivate themselves. Students will use assessment instruments to help them identify their own academic strengths and weaknesses. Students are ultimately expected to integrate and apply these skills to become effective efficient learners. This course is cross-listed as Human Development 1300. The student may register for either Psychology 1300 or Human Development 1300, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec.)

Prerequisite: Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading.
Introduction to Psychology surveys major topics in the study of behavior. Factors which determine and affect behavior are examined. Psychological principles are applied to the human experience. (3 Lec.)

Psychological facts and principles are applied to problems and activities of life and will be used to examine basic aspects of human relationships in society. This course will involve the direct application of psychological principles to human relation problems in such areas as business, health occupations, social service agencies, and interpersonal relationships.
