PHYS 2425 General Physics (4)
This is a Texas Common Course Number. Prerequisite: Credit or concurrent enrollment in Mathematics 2513. Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading. This course is designed primarily for physics, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering majors. The principles and applications of mechanics, wave motion, and sound are studied. Emphasis is on fundamental concepts, problem-solving, notation, and units. The laboratory includes a one-hour problem session. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)
