Medical Law and Ethics
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: GED or High School Diploma and admission to program.
Course Description: Instruction in principles, procedures, and regulations involving legal and ethical relationships among physicians, patients, and medical assistants. Includes current ethical issues and risk management as they relate to the practice of medicine and fiduciary responsibilities. (2 Lec.)

Medical Terminology
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: GED or High School Diploma and admission to program.
Course Description: A study and practical application of a medical vocabulary system. Includes structure, recognition, analysis, definition, spelling, pronunciation, and combination of medical terms from prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms. This course is cross-listed as MDCA 1213. The student may register for either MDCA 1313 or MDCA 1213, but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec.)
