Degree Plan Code: AAS.FIRE.PROTECT The Associate Degree Program in Fire Protection Technology integrates professional firefighting technical skills related to the everyday demands of the profession with academic and fire science courses covering fire service organization, strategy and tactics, fire codes and alarm and extinguishing systems, to provide graduates with the necessary ancillary knowledge to advance into supervisory and/or management level positions. The program is designed for students employed or those who desire employment in the fire service. p>

+Fire Protection Elective - must be selected from the following:
++MATH Course - students must select a Mathematics course from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Mathematics. +++Social/Behavioral Science Elective - must be selected from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Social/Behavioral Science. ++++COSC Course - any 3-4 credit hour COSC course. +++++Humanities/Fine Arts Elective - must be selected from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Humanities/Fine Arts. NOTE: Students enrolling in this program who plan to transfer to a four-year institution should consult an advisor or counselor regarding transfer requirements and the transferability of these courses to the four-year institution of their choice. |
