AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY -- TOYOTA TECHNICIAN-TRAINING AND EDUCATION NETWORK(Associate in Applied Sciences Degree) Eastfield only EFC-New September 1, 2010.
Degree Plan Code: AAS.AT.TOYOTA.TECH This specialized program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as Automotive technicians in Toyota/Lexus dealership service organizations. Sponsorship at a Toyota/Lexus dealer is not required to begin the program; however, award of manufacturer certifications tied are contingent on obtaining and sustaining sponsorship at a Toyota/Lexus dealer. Emphasis is placed upon the development of the necessary skills and knowledge required to function in Toyota/Lexus dealerships repairing and maintaining Toyota/Lexus model automobiles with electronic systems. This program includes operational theory, practical skills, and accepted shop procedures reinforced by intensive practice during cooperative work experience periods in the sponsoring dealership.

+Elective - any student enrolling in TECM 1341 Technical Algebra must take one Natural Science course from DCCCD Core Curriculum for Natural Science. Other college level MATH meets the requirement for MATH and Natural Sciences. ++Natural Science Elective - any student enrolling in TECM 1341 Technical Algebra must take one Natural Science course from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Natural Science. +++Elective - must be selected from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Humanities/Fine Arts. ++++Elective - must be selected from the DCCCD Core Curriculum for Social/Behavioral Sciences. NOTE: Some students enrolling in this program may plan to transfer to four- year institutions. They should consult with an advisor or counselor regarding transfer requirements and to identify how courses will transfer to the four year institution of their choice. |
