Beginning Latin I
This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a DCCCD Core Curriculum Course.
Course Description: This is the first semester of academic transfer Latin. It is an introductory course intended for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Its aim is to present essential vocabulary and grammar, and to develop the skills necessary for reading of easy prose. Emphasis is on the value of Latin as a background for the study of English and modern foreign languages. Customs and cultural insights are also presented. This course is cross-listed as LATI 1411 but is also used in Study Abroad programs. Students may register for either LATI 1311 or LATI 1411 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)
