Welding Safety, Tools, and Equipment

Course Description: An introduction to welding careers and safety practice, including welding safety; OSHA and the Hazardous Communication Act; Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS); basic mathematics; measuring systems; shop operations; use and care of precision measuring tools; and the use and care of hand and power tools. Instruction on various types of welding equipment and processes, basic welding gases, fluxes, rods, electrodes, symbols, and blueprints. Lab required. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
