Children with Special Needs
This is a WECM Course Number.
Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search by the certification date as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from the course.
Course Description: A survey of information regarding children with special needs including possible causes and characteristics of exceptionalities, intervention strategies, available resources, referral processes, the advocacy role, and legislative issues. (3 Lec.)

Course Description: A survey of information regarding children with special needs including the possible causes and characteristics of exceptionalities, intervention strategies, available resources, referral processes, the advocacy role, and legislative issues. This course includes a minimum of 16 hours of field experience in a P-12 Special Education Classroom setting. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)
