Introduction to Archeology

Course Description: This course is an anthropological approach to archeology. Topics include an introduction to the study of humanity's past. How archeologists retrieve, process, analyze and interpret surviving prehistoric materials is covered, as well as a survey of world prehistory through Neolithic times. (3 Lec.)

Cultural Anthropology

Course Description: This course introduces students to the elements and processes that create culture, society and social interaction. Language, cross-cultural communication, fieldwork, and analysis of multi-cultural societies are covered. A special emphasis is given to cross-cultural comparison and analysis of basic social institutions on a global scale in order to provide students with an appreciation and understanding of the underlying unity of diverse cultural expressions. (3 Lec.)

Course Description: An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on experience in Anthropology. In conjunction with class seminars, the individual student will set specific goals and objectives in the study of human social behavior and/or social institutions. (1 Lec., 4 Lab.)
