This Geographic Information Systems Engineering Assistant Certificate will prepare graduates to perform the duties necessary to assist a surveyor or engineer. Upon completion of this certificate program, the student will be able to use a variety of mapping application programs; acquire and correlate data from global positioning systems (GPS), surveying, and other sources; maintain spatial data; and present the results in a cartographic format. The program utilizes both classroom and laboratory experiences.
