ITMT 1400 (4 Credit Hours)

Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows XP Professional
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: Basic networking course, networking experience or instructor approval.
Course Description: Addresses the implementation and desktop support needs of customers that are planning to deploy and support Microsoft Windows XP Professional in a variety of stand-alone and network operating system environments. In-depth, hands-on training for Information Technology (IT) professionals responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and support of Windows XP Professional. This course is cross-listed as ITMT 1300. The student may register for either ITMT 1300 or ITMT 1400 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)

Course Description: A study of Windows Vista operating system including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, file management, users accounts and permissions, security features, network connectivity, external device setup, optimization and customization, deployment of Microsoft Office 2007 and migration from earlier versions. Windows 7 Configuration
This is a Local Need Course.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 or COSC 1401 or equivalent experience approved by instructor.
Course Description: A study of the Windows 7 operating system. Includes installation, upgrade, and migration to Windows 7, monitoring and resolving performance and reliability issues, insuring hardware and software compatibility, configuration of pre-installation and post-installation system settings for Windows security features, network connectivity applications, mobile computing, backup and recovery. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)
