This is an "Articulated Emphasis" degree with Texas A&M University (TAMU) - College Station

Students who complete this degree with a GPA of 2.50 with no grade below that of ("C") and who meet all admissions requirements at TAMU are eligible to apply for admission to TAMU's Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology program. Students who maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in transferable hours will gain automatic admission into TAMU's College of Engineering / Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution Department. Students maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in transferrable hours will gain preferential review for admission into TAMU's College of Engineering / Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution Department. Students with a GPA of 2.5 to 2.99 will be reviewed utilizing the standard transfer procedures at Texas A&M University and will be evaluated based upon traditional review. Students should follow this plan only if they wish to transfer to TAMU in Electronics Engineering Technology. Students wishing to transfer to another university should not assume this entire plan will transfer.

In order to be eligible to receive this AS degree, a student must:

  1. Complete a minimum of 63 credit hours including all the required courses listed;;
  2. Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301, Speech 1315 or 1321 and Math 2413;
  3. 3. Receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 ("C")
    [NOTE: TAMU guarantees admission with a 3.50 GPA with no grade below a "C"]    ;
  4. Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites; and
  5. Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction at Richland College.

Students who plan to transfer to TAMU-College Station must work closely with an advisor/counselor.
