Special Events Design
This is a WECM Course Number.
Course Description: Focus on planning and managing special events in the meeting planning area. An overview of the entire sequence of events from conceptual stage of the first meeting through completion of the event. Emphasis on technical planning skills including site selection, negotiating with suppliers, devising meeting specifications, preparing a budget, and working with facility staff to manage a successful event. The development of a special event from the conceptual stage through completion. Emphasis on industry terminology, factors to consider when planning a special event, and contingency plans. (3 Lec.)
