Career Pathway Program

The program is based on local articulations with area high schools and each program can award up to 15 hours of free Technical college credit for courses completed in high school. These courses can lead to a certificate or an associate degree at Eastfield College.

Each Career Pathway program is a planned sequence of courses developed cooperatively between school districts and the colleges.

High school students must follow these steps to participate in Career Pathways:

• Choose an articulated technical career program of interest and complete two or more courses with a grade of "A" or "B".
• Complete any additional requirements as outlined in the agreement for the program, such as
  • Portfolio (example: Child Development program)

Following high school graduation:

• Enroll at one of the seven colleges of the DCCCD where your chosen program is offered
• Meet with a Career Pathway advisor at the college and be sure to bring a high school transcript
• Declare a major and file a degree plan or certificate plan associated with your earned credits
• Complete any additional requirements as outlined in the agreement for the program, such as
• Required college courses (example: Culinary Arts program) or
• Portfolio (example: Child Development or Video Technology)
