State-Mandated Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress (TXG-SAP)

The Texas state legislature has included specific standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress for students receiving TEXAS Grants. As with the general SAP policy, the TXG-SAP has both a quantitative and qualitative standard that must be achieved each year to renew the award.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) - GPA and Completion Rate

GPA End of Initial Year Institution's SAP Policy
End of Subsequent Years Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA*
Completion Rate End of Initial Year Institution's SAP Policy
End of Subsequent Years 75% successful completion of attempted hours for the year and successful completion of 24 hours for the year.**

*Since the GPA requirement is cumulative, eligibility can be regained in the fall for a spring award, or in the summer for a fall award.
**Since the completion rate is for the year, eligibility can be regained in the summer for a fall award.
