Introduction to Humanities II
This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD.
Prerequisite: One of the following must be met: (1) Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading Standard.
Course Description: Human value choices are presented through the context of the humanities. Universal concerns are explored, such as a person's relationship to self and to others and the search for meaning. The human as a loving, believing and hating being is also studied. Emphasis is on the human as seen by artists, playwrights, film makers, musicians, dancers, philosophers, and theologians. The commonality of human experience across cultures and the premises for value choices are also stressed. (3 Lec.)

Fine Arts Appreciation

Course Description: Humanities 1315 is a course designed as an introduction to the Arts: such as (but not limited to) Music, Visual, Architecture, Theatre, Dance, and Cinematic. This course focuses on the study and appreciation of the fine and performing arts and the ways in which they reflect the values of civilizations. (3 Lec.)

World Cultures
