DANC 1347 (3 Credit Hours)

Jazz Dance I
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Course Description: The basic skills of jazz dance are introduced. Emphasis is on technique and development, rhythm awareness, jazz styles, and rhythmic combinations of movement. This course is cross-listed as DANC 1147. The student may register for either DANC 1147 or DANC 1347 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)

Jazz Dance II
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite Recommended: DANC 1347 or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
Course Description: Work on skills and style in jazz dance is continued. Technical skills, combinations of steps into dance patterns, and exploration of composition in jazz form are emphasized. This course is cross-listed as DANC 1148. The student may register for either DANC 1148 or DANC 1348 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 1 Lab.)
