Cedar Valley only

  • Students pursuing this award program are required to meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites.
  • Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

Degree Plan Code: ATC.CBPT.COMMISS

The Advanced Technical Certificate provides additional knowledge, training, and skills for those students holding a B.S. degree in a related field or for those electing to enhance their skill sets in energy management and energy efficiency commissioning. Higher levels of employment and responsibility can be attained after completion of this certificate. Students will have a heightened awareness of the role of energy conservation in maintaining the value of a building's assets. They will be able to integrate their skills, capabilities, and values within a growing industry. Completion of this certificate can lead to positions such as building weatherization technician, measurement and verification technician, LEED compliance technician, or building commissioning service technician. This certificate provides two specialization options: Energy Management and Energy Efficiency Commissioning.
