COMPUTER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY -- NETWORKING SUPPORT

- Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
- Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

This certificate offers multiple specialty options for development of networking systems engineer, software developer, database administrator and systems administrator. The program also provides preparatory training for those wishing to take the MCSE, MCDBA, MCSD, MCSA, and MCAD certification examinations. NOTE: Students must select and complete one specialty track to be considered as having met the requirement for this award.
Prerequisite: For all Tracks, basic understanding of personal computers/terminology and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1401 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel. MCDBA, MCSD and MCAD racks require problem solving and logic structures as obtained in ITSC 2435.
